Kiaruthi Nyeri AA

A Nyeri washed AA with blackcurrant, tomato, and the winey acidity that put Kenyan coffee on the map.

Close-up of glossy roasted coffee beans representing Kiaruthi Nyeri AA

Kiaruthi Factory sits at the foot of the Aberdare Range, where the volcanic red soils and double harvest calendar give Nyeri coffee its reputation for intensity. The factory’s smallholder members deliver ripe cherry through the fly-crop (Jun–Aug) and main-crop (Oct–Dec) harvests, processed with the double-fermentation, double-wash method standard across Kenya’s washing stations.

Expect blackcurrant and tomato-leaf notes over a winey, almost savory acidity — a cup built for people who want their coffee assertive.

Producer

Kiaruthi Factory is a farmer-owned cooperative wet mill serving roughly 900 smallholder members across the Tetu constituency.

Terroir

Deep, well-drained volcanic loam and a distinct dry season concentrate sugars in the cherry before the main harvest.
